LOCAL ACCOUNTANT RECEIVES AWARD FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE

NORTH HAVEN, CT (July 7, 2009) –James Sabio, CPA and principal at Konowitz, Kahn & Company, P.C., was recently honored at the Connecticut State Elks Association Annual Convention with the “Chairman of the Year,” award.

Mr. Sabio, a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs, has been active in the Elks for nearly 30 years and has chaired numerous committees and currently serves as Treasurer for Naugatuck Elks Lodge 967. He was selected for the award from over 30 eligible chairmen of Elks committees statewide. The state convention was held June 5-7.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America was established in 1868. With nearly one million members and over 2,000 lodges nationwide, it is one of the largest and most active fraternal organizations in the world. Its good works in the communities drive its mission “to inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, brotherly Love and Fidelity... (and) serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks care and Elks share.”
